Bengals Ravens Preview – Joe Burrow faces Lamar Jackson for the first time in his career.
After notching his first win of his NFL career, Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals travel to face the Baltimore Ravens. Burrow will face another former Heisman winner in Lamar Jackson. The Bengals are hoping that Burrow will be a difference maker as they have lost all 3 matchups against the Ravens since Jackson took over as starter. The Bengals are coming off a victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars 33-25. While the Ravens are also coming off a victory over the Washington Football Team 33-17.
The Bengals are getting a huge boost as Geno Atkins is expected to make his 2020 debut. No doubt it will help them against the Ravens rushing attack. This is something to watch as the Ravens will most likely be without starting RG Tyre Phillips as he is listed as doubtful. This could be troubling for an offensive line that has struggled as it is even with Phillips. Lamar Jackson missed practice on Wednesday and Thursday and is questionable for tomorrow. However, it was reported that he practiced fully on Friday and is at “100%.”
The Ravens 4th ranked rushing attack goes up against the Bengals 25th ranked rushing defense. Jackson has had some of his best rushing games against the Bengals defense. Will that continue tomorrow? As for the Bengals, they have the 16th best passing attack and the Ravens have the 25th ranked passing defense. The Ravens have allowed back to back 300+ yard passers, while Burrow has thrown for 300+ in his last 3 games. It’s going to be interesting to see these Bengals receivers against this Ravens secondary. Will the Bengals upset the Ravens in an already tight race for the AFC North?
