The injury bug hits Tennessee at practice today. Nate Davis and Derick Roberson both found themselves on the cart exiting the field. A.J Brown returned, unfortunately, had to leave early on his own power as well. There was no sign of the two rookies Evans and Fulton which have been out multiple days.
When Davis left on the cart, fans’ hearts sank. Could the Titans win the division with Jamil Douglas playing the right guard? How would rookie right tackle Isaiah Wilson be impacted? What is the fantasy impact for Derrick Henry? However, no need to worry at the moment because Terry McCormick said Davis will be fine. Apparently, the former Charlotte right tackle only was having leg cramps. One would expect Davis to be back in the lineup by the end of the week.
On the other hand, Roberson did not receive good news like his teammate Nate Davis. After being carted off the practice field, Roberson was not able to put any pressure on either leg. The 2019 UDFA who really started to take off at the end fo the season was going to be counted on as a solid depth piece. Are the Tennessee Titans going to have a major issue rushing the passer in 2020? Will Titans GM Jon Robinson now make a play for free agent Jadeveon Clowney? Whatever the Titans decide, they must act quickly since the season opener is less than two weeks away.
The Titans two high round draft picks have missed multiple practices in a row. Darrynton Evans was out for the seventh straight time, while Kristian Fulton is at six. With no off-season in-person practice, one would think this is a troubling situation. Last year both Nate Davis and A.J. Brown missed time in the pre-season and were able to bounce back later on. The biggest question will be how much can virtual learning help Evans and Fulton in the long run.
