On April 25th, 2020, the Tennessee Titans signed Mason Kinsey WR from Berry College. The Titans will likely only carry five to six receivers on the roster, so Mason Kinsey will have an uphill battle to make the team come September. However, Mason will have a chance, and from what we know of him, that is the only opening he will need. NGB Talk and Titan Upload were lucky enough to sit down and talk to Mason Kinsey. Titans fans lets meet Mason Kinsey.
While Mason had his heart set on becoming a Mercer Bear after high school, he ended up taking full advantage of his time at Berry College. At Berry, Mason helped his team win four conference championships. “Get it Out of the Mud” was quoted by Kinsey to describe how Division III athletes have to work with limited television and facility opportunities compared to Division I.
Special teams will be a massive component of whether or not Mason makes the team. Mason improved his forty-time to 4.36 by his workout before the NFL Draft. The Titans drafted Darrynton Evans in the 3rd round as the backup running back to Derrick Henry so there could be a chance the Titans still may need a punt or kick returner. Expect the Titans to keep only five receivers with an outside opportunity of six. Although the Titans may be extremely high on Cam Batson, there is no guarantee he makes the roster. Wide-Receiver Tajae Sharpe left Tennessee for Minnesota during free agency. Kinsey will compete with Batson, R. Davis, Raymond, Hollister, and other UDFAs such as Wilkerson, K. Williams, and Westbrook.
