The Giants have been breaking out as of late and it’s not in the way we might want or expect. On Friday (11/20), The Giants announced they have three more players who tested positive for the corona virus. The names have not been revealed yet which is definitely worrying to me as we got news of every other player who tested positive just a couple hours after breaking the news.
The Giants started off with just Will Hernandez, then immediately after Sundays win over the Eagles, the Giants announce K Graham Gano is confirmed with the virus. A day later they were able to confirm LS Casey Kreiter and P Riley Dixon as well. Which makes plenty of sense being that they were most likely to be around Gano the most.
So it is very worrisome that the Giants have yet another 3 cases still yet to be announced. As far as what it means for Nov. 29th vs the Bengals, this game may be postponed even though the Giants are on the bye this week. If anymore cases are announced, this can be trouble for Big Blue and the NFL as COVID has been under control for the most part around the league.
One thing I can certainly say is that the special teams unit is surely going to struggle without their kicker, punter, and snapper. P/K Ryan Santoso has been signed to the practice squad as damage control should the Giants need him, and it’s looking like that may just be the case.
We haven’t even talked about the possibilities that it may be very notable players since they haven’t mentioned any names yet. Could it be that someone like Daniel Jones is positive? or maybe one of our starting defensive lineman? What do you make of this situation?
