Nick Bosa Injury
OVERCOMING ADVERSITY
On the last episode the NBN crew tackles our recent victory of the NY Jets and discusses moving forward without key players on both sides of the ball.
THE PROBLEM:
Adversity isn’t anything new to the 49ers. If you take that time to look at last years schedule, we had multiple games that were without key starters. We have been without Kittle and Jusczcyk. We have been without Ford and Bosa. We have had other players with limited snap counts. The team has had several acquisitions from the start of the Lynch/Shanahan era that have missed an entire season or seasons in some cases. What is always the mentality? Next man up! Remember how worried everyone was last year when we lost Staley and McGlinchey for a couple of games, but their back-ups came in and we still made it to the Superbowl. San Francisco’s depth has been the key to their success and this year can be no different.
THE SOLUTION(S):
So how do we move forward? First we should wait till we know the medical status of the players the have been injured. Unfortunately we know that Kyle and his staff will not be forthcoming with information as they have in the past. Kyle told us that at the beginning of the season. For now, lets speculate on what we think we know. Bosa for now is probably out for the season, and is now replaced with Ziggy Ansah. Solly may also be out, but the reserved filled in fairly well following his injury. Jimmy may not be as bad as the team initially thought and could be a go next Sunday, but it would be in the teams best interest to give him as much time as possible to heal. Mullens can handle the reins until Jimmy returns. Kittle is expected back, but maybe we should wait one more week to make sure he is fully recovered. Our Tight End group held their own and Reed stepped up in his absence, he can do it again.
DIGGING DEEPER:
Our Running Back room is quite banged up, but Jeff Wilson can replace Coleman and bringing up Hasty may add another wrinkle for teams to deal with as they have no tape to prepare for him. Aiyuk is back and Sanu will have another week to work through first team reps. Don’t forget that White and Jennings are only a practice squad elevation away. I know anything can happen on any given Sunday and that’s why we love this game, but this week it’s the NY Giants on the same field, so LETS GO!
TAKE AWAY:
Don’t lose heart faithful, we will persevere and win the day.
