Click on the video listed above to watch as we break down the frustrating loss, San Francisco 49ers vs New York Jets Recap | Week 2.
So there we have it, 2 weeks into the season and the are winless. It’s not just losing that’s disappointing but its HOW the Jets lose, and by how much. Back to back weeks New York has been outplayed, out-coached, and out-schemed. Granted, both the Buffalo Bills and the San Fransisco 49ers are 2 really tough opponents, but that is still no excuse to look as poorly as they did. Considering how many injuries the Niners had to deal with, I expected a little bit more of a competitive matchup. Sherman, Kittle and Samuel missed the game entirely, where as Jimmy G, Nick Bosa and Soloman Thomas all left mid game with serious injuries. Pretty much everything went wrong in this one. The biggest flaws I picked up on were missed tackles, inability to stop the run, and offensive play calls. One thing that is extremely frustrating, is that it doesn’t seem like Gase ever learns from his mistakes. Week after week, it’s 2nd and long handoffs, where everyone in the stadium knows it’s coming. 3rd in long screens are also another major issue that needs to be addressed. Now I will say that they’re were injuries all around on both teams. Jamison Crowder, Lev Bell, didn’t play and Breshad Perriman had to exit early as well. Hopefully, this Jets squad is better prepared vs the Colts in the upcoming week 3 matchup. Indianapolis isn’t as talented as this Niners squad so we shall see what happens this Sunday.
