Should Washington be buyers or sellers before the trade deadline?
The trade deadline is quickly approaching and Washington has to decide if they want to be buyers or sellers. A win against Dallas could make them become buyers but a loss to a bad Dallas team should make them become sellers. Let’s take a look at some players on Washington that they could trade for draft picks and young talent.
Ryan Kerrigan is a fan favorite and I hate to say this but he is a player that definitely should be traded if Washington loses to Dallas on Sunday. Ryan Kerrigan broke the sack record a few games ago and should be added to the Washington Ring of honor after he retires. Last game against the Giants Kerrigan only played seven snaps. His playing time has decreased so far playing behind Chase Young and Montez Sweat. Kerrigan is still a productive player as he had a sack against the Giants and won NFC Defensive player week 1 against the Eagles. Washington could get a fourth round pick for him if they don’t plan on bringing the veteran back next season.
Brandon Scherff is currently on the franchise tag and has the best trade value on the roster. Scherff made the pro bowl 3 times in his career in Washington. Injuries have hurt Scherff’s production over the years. He played eight games in 2018 and eleven games in 2019. There have been games where Scherff has been underwhelming with a holding penalty or false start but for the most part he is a top tier Guard in the NFL. Washington could at least get a 3rd round or second round pick for him.
Washington should consider trading Fabian Moreau and Ryan Anderson. Both players have shown flashes but just haven’t been able to get many snaps this season. The Football Team could get either a sixth round or seventh round pick for either player. Washington should also think about trading Dwayne Haskins.
Washington should be sellers if they lose to Dallas on Sunday but if they find a way to win then they should try and buy some wide receivers or a tight end before the deadline.
