The Philadelphia Eagles laid the smack down on the Atlanta Falcons. Winning the game 32-6 clearly solidified that Jalen Hurts is ready to begin this new era. A lot of pressure was riding on this new coaching staff along with the performance of Jalen Hurts and they both answered the bell.
Entering this offseason, a lot of doubt and speculation was placed around Jalen Hurts and his ability to lead the Philadelphia Eagles. Not only did Jalen lead the Philadelphia Eagles to their first victory of the 2021 season, he did it in blowout fashion. On the first drive of the game he found rookie Devante Smith in the back of the end zone for the first score of the game. The Philadelphia Eagles defense took a little bit of time to adjust but ultimately made enough adjustments to hold the Atlanta Falcons to only 2 field goals.
Touchdowns from Devonta Smith, Kenneth Gainwell, Dallas Goedert & Jalen Reagor fully displayed how potent this Philadelphia Eagles offense can be. Jalen hurts looked poised in the pocket and selected his targets with ease. He ended the night with a 126.4 passer rating and a 77% completion rate erasing some initial doubt of accuracy concerns. The aftermath still surrounded the Philadelphia Eagles with questions as the new narrative is that the Falcons are not a good team.
Either way Jalen hurts completed the mission at hand bringing in a week one victory. Jalen Hurts and Nick Sirianni teamed up togther are currently 1-0 with the Eagles sitting in 1st place in the NFC East. Week 2 at Lincoln Financial Field presents a tougher challenge as the Eagles host the San Fransisco 49ers. We will all see if Jalen hurts can remain consistent at playing at such a high level.
