After an abysmal outing against the Browns last week. The Titans bounced back with a 35-10 win against the Jaguars. The defense picked up where they left off from the 2nd half of the Cleveland game. They held their ground for most of today’s game and have managed to put together 6 straight quarters of solid defensive play.
They look to maintain this streak against the Lions next week. Matthew Stafford will be a tougher test than Mike Glennon and Gardner Minshew. The Defense held running back James Robinson to 11 yards in the first half and 67 for the game. Malcolm Butler also had a leaping interception to give him 3 on the season.
Derrick Henry had an amazing game. Rushing for 215 yards and 2 tds. That gives him 1,532 yards on the season. He also became the 1st player in NFL history to have 4 games of 200 yards rushing and 2 tds in his career. He has continued to pick up steam in the ladder half of the season just like he did last season.
Ryan Tannehill had an efficient performance with 212 yards and 2 tds. He connected with AJ Brown early on with a beautiful throw and a one-handed bobble catch. Brown had 7 receptions for 112 yards. Corey Davis and Geoff Swaim both caught 3 passes for 34 yards. Swaim also pulled in a TD catch.
The Titans played a complete game today and played as they should against a one-win team. They should be able to handle the Lions next week as well. They will be a tougher test than the Jaguars for sure. I’m interested to see if the defense can continue its consistent play against a better quarterback.
